The highest honor is to photograph the wedding of a lifelong friend.

Catherine and I go all the way back to elementary school, where I’m almost positive we played wedding and house and school and both wanted to be the bride and the wife and the teacher in each situation. Thankfully, that didn’t stop us from being and staying friends over the years. It was probably our mutual love of the Backstreet Boys that kept our friendship in tact.

It brings me so much joy to know that Catherine has become all of those things, and that she found someone as amazing as Jim with whom to take on life’s adventures.

Their Holly Hills wedding exuded a sophistication and elegance that perfectly suited these two. I know that Catherine put so much thoughtfulness and love into planning a gorgeously romantic day, and Jim was her biggest supporter as they planned their wedding from across the country. As he told their pastor during their wedding rehearsal, he was excited to get married, but it was her day…and seeing her happy is all that he needs.

Catherine and Jim, I know you are enjoying paradise in Hawaii! Your wedding was so heartfelt, and I will always treasure being a part of this most special of days. You have a beautiful kind of love that I hope follows you and multiplies in all of the days you spend together.

And…*sigh* there is so, so much more lovely in the slideshow below. I can barely contain myself!
