Which is why I’m so in love with these colorful downtown Annapolis engagement photos.

The morning of Jenna + Billy’s Annapolis engagement session was so perfectly spring-like; I couldn’t help but feel immensely grateful to see the sun rise over the water (for the first time in what felt like months) and let its rays fall gently on my winter-white skin. It was the kind of morning where the water was still and glass-like, the only ripples following the ducks gliding along the surface and quacking cheerfully amongst themselves.

There’s so much joy in beautiful, quiet, peaceful mornings where the only other people around are the joggers and the dog-walkers – when it seems like the only people who live in this town are the good kind of people who also love the secret world that exists before everyone else wakes up.

I left this session feeling so much joy, feeling inspired after a long winter of hibernation, feeling so incredibly grateful to get to know these two people who are kind and friendly and warm and inviting. This may not be poetic, but it must be said: Jenna and Billy are just the type of people you want to be best friends with. Being around them was just plain fun, watching them laugh together reminded me why I love being around people in love, and when I did finally return home after our time together was done, it felt so right to put Barbra Streisand on the record player and listen to her belt that happy days are here again.
