I’m forever inspired by creators. And I love the ladies from 2Hands Studios, who make and share some of the loveliest maryland wedding rentals.

If you’re a bride planning a wedding, finding fabulous rentals may be one of the best things you can do to bring your wedding day dreams to life. And we’re not just talking about chairs and tables here, although those pieces can add uniqueness to a wedding, too. Have you thought about borrowing your wedding day decor? I’m a huge fan of wedding day rentals – here’s why!

1. Artistic vision. You have lots of ideas for your day, but it can be so daunting to figure out how to incorporate everything – or how to source and order or make it all yourself. A really great rental company will take your ideas, or work with your event and/or floral designer, and translate them into reality in way that may be even better than anything you imagined. Jill and Ally, the lovely ladies behind 2Hands Studios, both were makers before they started the company, and they work individually with each bride to find and source the right pieces or make the right pieces for her perfect day (case in point: see the fabulous ribbon backdrop below!).
2. Personalization. As a bride, it may feel impersonal to rent objects that make an appearance at many weddings – we all want our day to feel unique and special. But many decor rental companies, like 2Hands Studios, go out of their way to personalize their items for you by using creative calligraphy and hand-lettering, and often incorporating your wedding colors. I love the way they use their design talents to add such personal touches that save brides lots of time, enhance the beauty of the pieces they rent, and make the day feel unique to them!
3. Eco-friendly. One of the things we don’t often talk about when it comes to weddings is what we do with all of the things that are left once the day is over. I love an eco-conscious bride who is intentional about the impact she has on the space and the environment. By renting decor, those items are reused and recycled after the wedding and don’t go to live in a landfill – they often get to make another bride happy. 2Hands Studios keeps their collection stored in a studio in Annapolis and often finds many of their pieces vintage or second hand, saving them from the dump and giving them a new life of celebration!
