Caitlin + Josh // Ellicott City Engagement Session
There’s something magical about the first place you call home, together. For Caitlin and Josh, their Ellicott City engagement session took them back to their beginnings.
I know exactly how they feel about this place. I have a place like this, too.
It’s where you find your corner coffee shop, with the delicious handmade baked goods that become your “special occasion” regular Sunday breakfast, where you can sit and talk for hours about nothing at all and everything at once.
It’s where you meander the streets on quiet weekend afternoons, weaving in and out of shops that are comforting in the way they hardly change, always offering unique and special treasures you’ll never find anywhere else, but that you’ll never take home.
It’s where you hold hands as you walk down the street, after visiting the farmer’s market to buy the fresh vegetables that you carry home in reusable bags for a later experiment, that everyone else calls cooking, but for right now is really more about sharing the adventure in domesticity and sometimes yields edible creations. At least you know you’ll laugh about them together later.
It’s where you explore and learn how to live like a grown-up, while never actually, completely, feeling like one, because you have brunch in coffee shops and are still learning how to make a meal.
But because it’s where you started your life together, it’s the place you will hold forever in your heart as the backdrop of the memory of what it felt like to fall in love.

The photos are absolutely beautiful, but I’m obsessed over what you wrote. So true and so heart warming. Thank you for making me smile 🙂

Beautiful, Anna! I was just there and saw those same records – but you have such a creative eye – I love the picture of them looking through the records 🙂 Such a lovely session!
