Things that made me think // 01
I’ve come across several articles lately that I wish I would have written myself. So I thought I might share them, because you never know who else they might inspire. Each one really made me think, hence the title of this new (sporadic) series.
This article about Pinterest and creativity might end up being linked by every photographer on the planet. But it’s still a really good read, especially if you’re planning a wedding.
Forget work-life balance. The Law of Proportion should be our new standard. I’m taking this to heart for the month of August.
Want to know why you’re not seeing results? Try to sync your actions with your thoughts (and I’m just going to put this out there…syncing is so much easier for computers). This is my life goal, people.
How to become more creative. It means spending more time in your garden, or where ever it is that you’re happiest. And don’t feel guilty about it.
Annie Leibovitz is my hero. Maybe every creative/photographer/person-who-has-lived-for-eighty-years will tell you this, but there are no shortcuts. Just do the work.
Do you know the difference between your spirit and your ego? This was exactly what I discussed with my business coach recently (and I have a sneaking suspicion the video was recorded after our session). But I love it and it is working really, really well for my mental health and my business decisions so far.
And I’ll leave you with this quote that spoke to me from Zack Arias’ Photography Q&A. I had to make a really tough decision this week, and this gave me the courage to do it.
Hooray, it’s Thursday!

Can I just take a moment and applaud you for avidly blogging! I tried a year or two ago and we never got along. Though…I LOVE reading blogs. Ha!

MailinhAw, thanks! I’m really trying to make an effort to create more in this realm these days…my vacation revitalized the creative juices, lol. And I have to say, even if you don’t blog, you are more encouraging and supportive than anyone I know. That is your gift…keep embracing it!
