US Naval Academy Wedding // Erica + Bret’s Best Day Ever!

For any wedding, it’s easy to show how pretty the day was – especially when the backdrop is a beautiful Annapolis hotel and an US Naval Academy wedding. What’s less easy to show is how beautiful the people getting married are on the inside.

You’ll see it in their smiles, sure, and the way they look at each other. But the inner beauty that shines through in the little everyday parts of their lives…I can’t show you that.

So, instead, I’ll have to tell. Or, in this case, I’ll let Bret start the story.

I always ask every couple what they love about each other. My favorite thing that Bret said about why he loves Erica is, “How she always takes the shopping cart up to the shopping cart corral when no one else has the decency to do so.” My heart melts every time I re-read that. It’s such a sweet thing to notice and appreciate in another person.

Bret and Erica are the type of people who have given their lives to serve their country, and in their limited free time, opened their home to a puppy-in-training to become a service dog for a veteran. Two more open-hearted, generous, considerate, and selfless people I could not be more honored to know.

I know that their lives (and the military) will take them on some amazing adventures together. This was just a gorgeous and joyful beginning for two of the most deserving and lovely people.
