Locust Point Baltimore engagement sessions // Erin + Chris
I don’t know why it hasn’t occurred to me to put it into words before, but when people ask what I photograph, I have always deferred to the obvious, the actual things that pass in front of my camera: weddings and portraits.
Except that while that’s true, it is in some ways too vague and not an exact distillation of what my heart begs for more of.
Because what really brings me joy and what weddings and portrait sessions are meant to celebrate is love. All the kinds of love.
It’s about making an emotion visible, tangible, real, and more than a memory. Seeing what it looks like to be in love, how you love, how you are loved. It’s capturing emotions that play out on faces, through gestures and embraces. It’s holding hands and breathing deep, smiles, laughter, and even the moments of quiet shared together.
All of these things – I see them in Chris and Erin’s Locust Point Baltimore engagement sessions. We tossed around ideas of picnics and editorial styles, but at the end of the day, I’m so glad we landed on photos in a relaxed space, a place where they feel at home, where they spend time together, where they can celebrate their love for each other and the city it was built in.
They brought the romance and the joy. Thank god I brought a camera.
