Liz + Andy // Evergreen and Gold Northern Virginia Weddings
I couldn’t imagine a sweeter couple to end the year with. Liz and Andy had one of the loveliest Northern Virginia weddings anyone could ask for.
There are times on a wedding day when I can feel the anticipation – the way the bride’s hands shake as she puts on her dress or the way the groom laughs in short bursts as he waits for hours before the ceremony with his groomsmen (where a hidden video game console comes in handy – lucky boys). Sometimes it’s nerves, or even just jitters. But it wasn’t for these two. For Liz and Andy, the anticipation came from years of dreaming of this day of being united before their families and being joined together to fulfill their higher calling.
Their day didn’t revolve around everything being perfect or fretting about the little things. No, the beauty of it all was in the way they simply basked in the love of those who have cared and nurtured them in their faith and supported their servant hearts, the same family who in turn finds joy and encouragement simply by witnessing the the purest, most genuine, and unselfish kind of love that Liz and Andy have for each other.
But of all the beautiful moments that unfolded on their wedding day – the looks, the hugs, the kisses, the laughter and smiles – by far, my favorite was the way Liz ran to Andy after being whisked away on the dance floor, returning to him with a squeeze and the sweetest of kisses each time, which he returned with a beaming smile that said just how wonderful he found it to be near her again, and for always.
