What if

you could...

actually ENJOY a photo shoot, instead of simply surviving it?

feel like your images have come straight out of a magazine shoot?

create beautiful images while turning toward yourself with kindness and love?

have a collaborator to help you find a creative direction for your life, space, or biz?

hand your image-based overwhelm over to a consummate professional?

Welcome!

I'm Anna.

I’m a photographer and writer (and not-so-secretly a sun-worshipping mermaid).

My work is creating images of people, businesses, and spaces that make their inner sparkle shine.

Let’s go desire hunting together to discover your hidden dreams so that we can create photos that fill you with delight (and help you make bank…if you’re using photos for your biz).

kindest words

To say that I wish I could have Anna around me at all times to be my personal hype girl and life coach, only scratches the surface to explain how much I love her! She made me feel SO comfortable and confident in front of the camera and you can absolutely tell through the photos.

Come stop by my house and look at art! I’m stop 565 on the EAST side of the @austinstudiotour. putting this here as a reminder that someday i will have a yard full of dahlias and flowers for making warm colored bouquets. feels appropriate for today’s newsletter on dreams and how i’m doing them differently these days. if you want to get it, drop your email at the newsletter link in bio ☝️

i wonder if my love of cacti is born out of my innate understanding of their beauty and their armor. i dearly wish that lovely yellow flowers might grow from the difficult parts of my nature too, with the right proportion of rain and sun, both of which seem to be coming in equal measure during these days at home.

i’m refinishing a pair of vintage eames lounge chairs that i bought two houses ago for $150 off of a guy on craigslist. they are old, worn and missing parts. and some of the parts they do have need replacing, which involves removing the rotten, rusty old parts and inevitably causes a little bit of destruction. that is the scariest part - knowing that in order to give these chairs more life, i have to damage a few parts of them first. sometimes it’s removing loose veneer or a broken zipper, or popping off buttons. i hate that part. it’s ugly, it’s messy, and frankly a little bit (sometimes a LOT) scary taking something that was functioning and whole (however loosely we want to use that word) and making it worse before it can be better. ✨
it’s actually the same feeling i get when i open the back door of my camera to light leak a roll of film i’ve just shot. it’s terrifying to think that there’s a chance i might be making it worse instead of better, or ruining a great photo. and yet, it has never ceased to be true that the damage is turned into something more magical and lovely.
✨
i like to think that i’m constantly standing in the intersection between intentionality (which might just be a nicer word for control) and magic (which is another word for all of the things i can’t control). it’s true for my chairs - the way they break and the way i can make them whole again - making photos on film - making a photo of something that looks beautiful and trusting that it will develop correctly or that double exposures and light leaks will enhance it and make it better - and it’s true right now too - that whatever energy and love i’m showing up with in these craziest of times will be the thing that leads to something better as the future unfolds.

y’all: i hate selling, so this is my way of trying to make it more fun for all of us. less suck and more happiness all around, please. two things i know that make anything better are doing things with friends and adding color whenever possible. so i’m doing a fun flash sale in the print shop: perfect pairings for $100! selected happy prints are paired with their best friends for a flat price, giving you more colorful art for less dollars. AND 50% of the profits help other artists too. it’s only up for 24 hours...and my personal favorite pairing is Bosom Buds with Flower Power Pose (but you’ll have to go visit the @cheerfulprintshop stories to see for yourself).
